Bidvest Afcom has been a South African leader in the manufacturing, distribution, and
provisioning of innovative packaging and fastening solutions and services to the commerce,
mining, and agricultural sectors for 93 years, via 9 branches, 2 sales depots, and 3
manufacturing operations throughout the country. Over the many decades, we have built a
reputation for reliability and an after-sales service that is of the highest quality. We
ensure that each and every product and service we provide is of the highest quality and
offers the solution that is not only the most convenient but also offers our customers a
sense of security. From strapping, collated nails, staples, and taping machines to inkjet
marking and coding systems, self-adhesive labels, stretch film and machines, shrink film,
pallet netting, protective packaging to power tools, gas technology systems, and consumables
for the construction industry and so much more. Our exceptionally trained team focuses on
providing customers with solutions, supported by quality products and service excellence,
and with our extensive national footprint, we are never hard to find.
Always Evolving to secure growth
From humble beginnings in 1928 – with Afcom founder Sidney Harrisberg importing and
marketing stapling equipment from the US-based Markwell Manufacturing Company (pictured
below) – services have evolved to distributing, as well as manufacturing and selling the
equipment, systems and/or products required to assemble, staple, stitch close and seal any
bog, box, container or package used for finished goods.
Becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bidvest Group in 1989, helped to expand Bidvest
Afcom’s national footprint, cementing the team’s capability of providing technical service
offerings across all industries. However, Bidvest Afcom has a much broader vision of
becoming the leading African provider of end-of-line packaging and fastening solutions
which are responsive to real customer challenges across the continent.
