CLA160 Conveyor Label Applicator

The CLA160 label applicator for conveyor systems, is the smallest in a family of applicators designed to be used on a conveyor belt. It was designed with fresh produce in mind, as the applicator arm is articulated, allowing for variations in the height of the product being labelled. It can be used vertically or (optionally) horizontally. A small gap (2cm) between packages is typically sufficient to ensure accurate labelling of each package. If the label is almost the same length as the package being labelled, a larger gap may be required to allow the applicator to recover in time for the next package.

The CLA160 provides 16 profiles, each of which can contain the setup parameters for a particular product/label. This enables a change of product simply by selecting the correct profile, and adjusting the arm height setting as appropriate. If the packages are within a height range of 50mm of each other, this can be done simply by rotating a knob controlling the applicator arm. Horizontal mounting for side labelling is possible with a slight modification to the applicator, and custom mounting hardware.

Labels can be applied to two adjacent sides (top and side, or side and bottom – if the punnet is placed on its side on the conveyor), The operator will need to smooth the second side on after the label has been partially applied to the first side. Punnets of fruit have been labelled this way, as the business decided that the punnets had to be handled anyway in order to be packed into boxes.
