PLA220 Conveyor Label Applicator with Printer

The PLA220 automatic label applicator for conveyor systems, is an enhanced version of the CLA220. It incorporates a commercially available industrial label printer, allowing labels to be printed on the applicator before being applied.
This saves time and labour, as labels that are preprinted at a print station, before being rewound and then applied, can be loaded unprinted onto the applicator, and the print job released via the network. The labels then print as required, one label being printed each time a label is applied. Should some jobs not require printing, the labels can bypass the printer.

The applicator was designed with fresh produce in mind, as the application arm is articulated, allowing for variations in the height of the product being labelled. It can only be used vertically. The CLP220 provides 16 profiles for job configurations, each of which contains the parameters for a particular product/label. This enables a change of product simply by selecting the correct profile, and adjusting the arm height setting as appropriate. If the packages are within a height range of 60mm of each other, this can be done simply by rotating a knob controlling the application arm.

Job parameter settings include the label position on the machine (to peel correctly), the position to apply the label to the job, and a minimum distance between labels, to avoid placing multiple labels on one container. A standard sensor is supplied, unless otherwise requested. Should there be non standard requirements, various other sensors are available to suit the users application.
